University of Leeds lecturer Dr Li Sun has introduced her book on rural-urban migration in China to a diverse audience at the University.
At a meet-the-author event organised by the Confucius Institute, Dr Sun explained the context and process of the research that culminated in the publication of the book.
She also discussed her experience of migration within China and from China, stating that her personal experience has informed her passion for the research.
Her presentation, which focused extensively on the policy response of the Chinese government to the challenges faced by rural migrants in the cities, was followed by a lively Q&A session.
